News and announcements by the Tramprennen-crew

new route +++ DonationCounter is exploding!

Oye, Tramprennen-Freaks!
About a month from now we’ll be racing, laughing, dancing and having tons of fun! For clean drinking water!

Here the most recent news:

1. One route has changed!

Since one route had so far not captured anybody’s interest, we’ve reacted. After discussing the reasons with friends and participants, we’ve changed the route „Hauerei Maddox“. Several teams appear to prefer the Balkans over Italy, hence Maddox became a fourth route to tackle the Balkans.
And this is how it goes: Basel (CH) – Traunstein (D) – Zagreb (HR) – Novi Sad (SRB) – Skopje (MK) – Thessaloniki (GR) – Preveza (GR).

Also, it added two more countries to the list of where we’ll be passing through: Serbia and Macedonia.
Who has second thoughts about his or her choice of route now, can easily change routes in their team’s profile page: Switch route

2. The Fundraising-Toolkit!

The donation counter is starting to go steadily upwards. Over 1200 Euros are in the bucket already! We’ve received a few mails from hitchhikers that want to get started collecting donations but don’t know how to go about it. This is why we are now providing you with a fundraising toolkit with a few basic hints.
Check the Fundraising-Toolkit
Let’s make the bucket run over!

3. further team registrations

More and more teams are registering. Almost everyday a new one adds themselves. 49 are registered now – awesomeness! So when the last liability waivers have been signed and hitch packages paid, the race will be full soon. Tell your friend who are interested in participating – hitchhikers with real interest need to hurry up!

4. The shirts have been printed!

The shirts are done – check them out on live people:

5. Health insurance abroad

Ole from team DBT was so wise as to check insurance policies. He informs about it in this forum entry:

6. Go nuts!

We keep on working on the last details to ensure a fun and successful race. Also, our own team profiles are mostly online and we can’t wait to race with and against you!
At last, a message from Viva con Agua Switzerland

Cheeerio and see you soon!!

News! registrations – donation counter – shirts!

Dear hitchhiking Friends,< br />
Big wheels keep on turnin’, which is why it’s time to drop some news. In around 6 weeks we’ll hit the road, the first team dizzes have happened and a few teams have found their first sponsors and the first donations are in.

So here’s the most recent developments!

1.Registrations!
We’re approaching 40 registerd teams! Here and there a few waiver forms or hitchpackage payments are missing, but soon all those teams will be online and have chosen a route! The Route “Blues Laboe” (from Berlin) is almost full, “Tigers Gaarden” also appears to be a preference! Hence, he who wants his favorite route knows what to do… ;)

2. TeamProfile Menu
TeamCaptains may now add their hitchmates as users to the profile menu, if the hitchmates are registered to tramprennen.org as well. This way, hitchmates can check the registration progress and change the profile as well.

3. Shirts!
Teammembers of teams who ordered the HitchPackage can now choose their preferred shirt sizes in the TeamProfile menu, once they’ve paid up.
The final colors and design can be checked here: Das Hitchpaket.
We’re happy with it, hope you’ll be too. As said before, if you had chosen to not get a package earlier and want one now, you can still order one with Ansgar (gro.nennerpmartnull@ragsna). We’d be delighted :)

4.Donations!
The donation counter is reving upwards – 26 cent/km are in! :)
Some teams have already acquired TeamSponsors and TeamOwners! A prime example is the team K2Go from Bremen! Konrad & Katja have already put considerable effort in for clean drinking water:
K2Go Teamprofile
As an aside – last year’s counter topped out at 4.13 Euro. Let’s challenge that!< br />
Also check the video of team Herschel Krustofski, Maurits and Gero are going full power:

Nuff respect for this crazy shit!!! :)

5. Viva con Agua Website
We hacked a Tramprennen info page into the Viva con Agua website, which is an ideal digital flyer with concise information:
Have a look!
You might want to share that link with friends & family when starting your personal donation hunt :)

6. Water projects!
If you’re unfamiliar with the water projects we’re collecting donations for this year, how our cooperation with Viva con Agua works and how the projects are put into reality, this overview will inform you:

7. Still got questions?
We are still working on one or the other little tidbit and are looking forward to putting out our thumb with you! If we can help you with something, you’ve got a specific unanswered question or found a bug on the website – we are happy about any messages from you!

Let’s go crazy!!
We can’t wait for two fun weeks of hitchhiking with you!

We are simply celebrating ourselves for finally having finished this nutty shit! Now we’re looking forward to every hitchhiker, every registered team, every cent for Viva con Agua, every Tramprennen sticker on every gas station! Tramprennen 2011: Overview of all 5 routes!

After teasing you with the first two routes, we’ve decided to let the next three off the hook in one go.

The plan is to send you guys on the road on the 22nd of August from 3 different locations: Hamburg, Berlin and Basel – 5 different routes, all heading to Preveza, Greece. Every route will consist of up to 12 teams of 2 or 3 people! Hence, the plan is to hitchhike with at max 60 teams to Greece for clean drinking water!

You’ll get to know when and how to register here on the website in the upcoming weeks! We’re still working out the details on the project areas of Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli and Viva con Agua Switzerland, for whom we’ll travel yet again and in the case of VcA Switzerland for the first time, getting the registration process to work smoothly plus a few more surprises to come! But we promise it won’t be long for the next phase to come: Register, participate, hunt for sponsors, support water projects and hitchhike, of course!!

Weird routenames? Indeed, in good tradition! The routes of Tramprennen 2010 were an hommage to the names Dirk, Sönke und Knut, which enjoy special treatment at the Hamburgian Viva con Agua office. This time the tribute goes to a German TV documentary of the nineties – the unintended satire “Youth Wars”! :)

We working on an updated FAQ for Tramprennen, which should answer most of your questions on participation, registration, Viva con Agua, hitchhiking, the supported water projects, the hitch-package, safety, an so forth! If you’ve already want to inquire about something, shoot! :)

Your TR11-Crew!
