For the fourth time in a row, over a hundred hitchhikers gather together to promote hitchhiking and just have a good time. Apart from the fun of meeting and traveling, they attempted to raise hitchhiking’s popularity and acceptance in society.

Martin Boserup and Fabrice Renucci documented the “European Hitchhiking Week”. Their film was shown at the 2009 Cannes film festival.

Every year around easter, hundreds of hitchhikers travel from Britain to either Prague, Croatia or even Morocco. The participants acquire sponsors before the event, that support the annually altering cause. In the previous 17 years, more than 4.400 hitchhikers collected several hundred thousand Euros to finance educational projects in Africa. Most probably one of the oldest and biggest hitchhiking race in Europe!

Not only the descriptions of the exotic places he visited make the book a must-read, but also his personal development over time and his view of the world.
